Why Venezuela does not want to return to the OAS, despite Petro’s efforts

Venezuela has been outside the Organization of American States (OAS) since April 2019, after requesting its withdrawal due to discrepancies with this body. However, President Gustavo Petror has reiterated on several occasions his desire for the neighboring country to become part of it again.

But the Venezuelan plan is different and President Nicolás Maduro has already made it known.
