The game started at an intense pace, with Galo opening the scoring in the first minute of the game with Pavón. After cutting the defender, the Argentine hit a beautiful shot with his left foot, with no chance for goalkeeper Matheus Cavichioli.

The second half also started at an intense pace, with América tying after just 6 minutes. After Aloísio’s individual play, Benítez came face to face with the Atlético goalkeeper and scored the second.
Galo could have taken the lead again on the scoreboard 10 minutes into the second half, with a penalty kick. Striker Hulk, however, wasted the opportunity after Cavichioli’s save.
