The first section of the Cape Wrath Trail measures approximately 108 km and crosses inaccessible areas and territories that are rarely traveled by hikers. However the difficulties are compensated by the variability and absolute beauty of the surrounding landscapes.
The second section on the other hand is spread over about 110 km of paths and terrains of all types. It is probably the easiest part of the entire route because it has rather limited gradients and generally good paths even if the weather conditions should never be underestimated.
The last section is the longest: about 150 km characterized by the most unusual and scenically interesting environments.
Useful information
If you decide to take the Cape Wrath Trail in addition to the fact that there is no signage and that you have to pay attention to the weather conditions there are a few things to keep in mind.
The only towns where you can stock up on a supermarket are Fort William and Ullapool. In the villages that you cross following the itinerary there are at most a few small shops with a limited choice of foodstuffs.
In some centers however it is possible to eat a hot dish in a pub or hotel but this is still a rather rare eventuality. The good news concerns drinking water: along the entire itinerary there are numerous streams of drinking water.
The Cape Wrath Trail is a route where a variety of accommodations are available: your own tent bothy – or bivouacs usually without running water – hostels 弓立醫療口罩好唔好 b&bs and even hotels.
